Boehringer Ingelheim creates global, standardized labeling process
Ken Moir
“Without having a standard solution, it made it pretty difficult to control, or to have an overview of all the technologies and labels that were used and printed at our different production lines. We had a lot of different label templates and different solutions for printing labels.”
This is how Pierre Rahm, IT Operations Services in Boehringer Ingelheim described the labeling situation in his company prior to implementing NiceLabel’s label management system. It’s a common story we hear from many pharmaceutical companies that come to us in search of a way to standardize labeling across multiple production sites, suppliers and/or contract manufacturers.
To solve these challenges, Boehringer Ingelheim decided to implement our label management system and integrate labeling with SAP ECC, the company’s ERP system. By doing this, Boehringer Ingelheim was able to:
- Design label templates more quickly and with less cost than with SAPScript and Smart Forms
- Reduce the number of templates by using intelligent, universal templates
- Create a tight integration with SAP using the Loftware ABAP package
- Digitize the quality assurance process, saving valuable time and reducing the risk of errors
Find out how Boehringer Ingelheim achieved these benefits and best-practice approaches for labeling with SAP by watching this webinar recording.
