The changing landscape of barcode labeling: Part 3 [Video]

Welcome back to the Loftware blog, where we're in the midst of examining the current state of barcode labeling.

This time around, our topic is traceability and anti-counterfeiting efforts. Barcode labels play a key role in pursuing these supply chain goals.

When companies can't track their products effectively, they suffer from greater liability, increased costs and a loss of customer trust. Tracking items through today's complicated supply chains calls for comprehensive barcode labeling of all products.

Organizations at any level of a supply chain can trace the journeys of items when they issue everything its own unique barcode.

Failure to institute such a system could leave the business at risk of counterfeiting. Many industries are developing tough traceability standards, meaning such a system is now a must-have rather than a simple value-add.

Come back soon for more of our exploration of barcode labeling. You also can find out more about the changing landscape of barcode labeling by downloading the paper on this topic developed by VDC Research and Loftware.
