Fresh Take on Age-Old Challenges in Food Labeling
If you’re heading to the Food Safety Consortium ‘17 next week—or maybe you’re still on the fence about attending—there’s a special presentation you won’t want to miss. That is, if you’re concerned about things like product recalls, supply chain delays and disruptions, and lost revenue.
Billed as the premier event where attendees can gain valuable insight into best practices and new technology solutions that address today’s food safety challenges, the 5th Annual Food Safety Consortium conference will be held Nov. 28 thru Dec. 1 at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center in Schaumburg, IL, just outside Chicago. The packed agenda includes panel discussions, individual presentations, “Ask the Experts” discussion groups, workshops and training, as well as plenary sessions featuring Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FQSA) industry experts and government officials.
One session in particular that should draw people’s attention features a case study of how a global manufacturer gained a new level of visibility, control and efficiency with enterprise labeling software. Louise Newswanger, Quality Management Systems Coordinator from Savencia Cheese (formerly Alouette Cheese), will present “Creating a Closed-Loop Labeling Process to Improve Traceability and Accuracy” on Friday, Dec. 1 at 9:30 AM in Nirvana C conference room. During this 45-minute presentation, Louise will share how Savencia’s newly implemented labeling solution enables the company to get product to customers faster and more efficiently than ever before—without fear of mislabeling and costly returns.
You’ll hear how Savencia Cheese overcame its supply chain challenges by:
- Adopting a standardized and centralized approach to barcode labeling
- Integrating labeling within its ERP system to leverage the most accurate label data
- Developing a centrally controlled workflow for the design, review and approval of labels
- Empowering less-technical users to make label changes including language support
- Extending labeling templates to co-packers to ensure right data and proper formatting
- Gaining enhanced visibility and control to accurately track product—via the label—across its global food chain
While you're at the show, we encourage you to stop by the Loftware Booth #103 during exhibitor hours where we can tell you more about the specific solution Savencia uses, Loftware Spectrum, and how it can address some of your most pressing supply chain demands. Loftware serves the Enterprise Labeling needs of Food & Beverage companies all over the world and we’d happy to discuss how we can help you with challenges like GS1 standards and compliance, FDA labeling—including allergen and GMO labeling—and other top-of-mind concerns. If you'd like to arrange a private 30-minute meeting with our experts at the conference, we do that, too. Either way, we hope to see you there!
