Better Supplier Labeling: Part 7 [Video]

by Craig Hodgson, on August 23, 2017

Welcome back to the Loftware blog. In recent weeks, we've discussed the benefits of good supplier labeling. Today we'll zoom in on what happens when companies fail to improve their systems and settle for less effective labeling solutions.

Confusion and uncertainty are common in the relationships between suppliers and manufacturers. When a manufacturing plant can only issue vague instructions to its partners, shipments may arrive mislabeled, late or early. Even when everything goes well, there is time and labor spent on re-labeling the shipments.

Managing raw material inventory without a standardized labeling system can be inefficient and unpredictable. The implementation of new solutions is the primary way to resolve this tension, breaking down barriers between supply chain partners.
