1.  Login using an account that has read/write privileges to the directory where the LCC will be installed.  The default location for Linux and UNIX platforms is ‘/opt/loftware/connector’.

2.  Mount the Loftware Connector CD and optionally copy the CD contents to an existing directory.

3.  From a shell prompt, invoke the appropriate setup program for your operating system.

For Linux: ./setupLinux.bin –console

For Unix: ./setupUnx.sh –console

4.  From the Welcome screen, press 1 to start the installation.  (Press 2 to return to the previous screen, 3 to Cancel, or 5 to Redisplay.)

5.  Specify a directory where the Connector Console and related files will be installed, and then press 1.  To accept the default location for Linux and UNIX - /opt/loftware/connector - press [Enter].

6.  If you are using the LCC to configure the Loftware Oracle Connector, select “Connector installed in an Oracle database.”  If the Console is going to be used to configure the Connector in the Java API mode, select “Connector configured for Java applications”.  NOTE: This option can be changed later if needed.  Press 1 to continue.

7.  A confirmation screen displays the feature that will be installed and the destination directory.  Press 1 to complete the installation.

8.  When the Wizard has successfully completed the installation, press 3 to finish and exit the Wizard.
