Version 8.1 - Release Notes January 2005

Feature Details  back to version info
96-bit RFID Tag Support Complies with the latest version of the EPC specification document version 1.1 revision 1.26. This specification resolved several problems with 96 bit encoding.
Direct Socket Interface (DSI) This interface allows your application to send an XML file to the TCP/IP address that the LPS is listening. The requests in the XML file are subsequently printed. This is a very simple way to make label requests on a large scale without having to perform complex socket coding or sharing drives.
Calculated EPC codes Get the computed EPC data back to your application if using the socket or .NET interfaces to LPS. This allows your application to store the calculated EPC codes for each print event. Fields within the EPC code are passed back as well.
New XML Parser The new XML Parser refines the parsing of large scale XML requests with a marked increase in performance and reliability.
Added RFID Printer Support Support added for the following RFID printers:
  • Datamax I-4212, I-4308,I-4406, I-4604, I-4210
  • Avery ALX 925, DPM 5, 6405
