| Feature | Details back to version info |
| Enterprise Print Server: Internet Label Printing with the WebClient | The Internet Edition has two outstanding applications: The WebClient is a fully featured On-Demand Printing application allowing users to harness the power of Loftware's Printing Engine remotely. Go global with detailed, customized operator input screens that are created in Loftware's Design Module and presented to users of the WebClient in the same fashion as Loftware's LLMWIN32 stand-alone On-Demand Print Module and the LPS "thin" On-Demand Print Client. Loftware's new WebClient allows you to maintain centralized control over label printing while accessing your labels through the internet to any of your satellite offices or production warehouses the world over. The LPS Internet ActiveX Control - Like Loftware's ActiveX "thin" Client Control available in the Starter, Print Server, Enterprise and Bundled Editions of the LPS, the Internet ActiveX Control, or "iX", is specifically designed to be used over the Internet. Software developers developing Web-based applications can quickly integrate the Control in their applications and start printing barcode labels and forms across the Internet. Benefits: Web based applications gain immediate access to high-speed barcode printing without writing extremely specialized application code and printer drivers. The Internet ActiveX Control eliminates complicated programming and drastically lowers programming and development costs and ensures reliable and flexible printing across the Internet. |
| "Housekeeping" | To maximize performance and make jobs available for reprint, the LPS stores data about the jobs that it services. Periodically, this data must be purged in order to limit the amount of disk space being used by this legacy information. Previous versions of the LPS would purge when the disk space used by the legacy information reached a preset level. The problem with this was that when a purge came along, it delayed labels that were currently printing. Version 5.5 of Loftware solves this by giving the user a substantial amount of flexibility to choose when and how legacy information is purged with our new "Housekeeping" function. Although the functionality described above is still the default behavior, users can now choose to "Always Purge", or purge once a day between shifts or shutdowns. Each setting affects performance in different ways depending on the nature of your particular labeling system requirements. |
| New Bar Code Wizard | Version 5.5 comes with standard templates and a new Barcode Wizard to build the new TCIF Linked Code 39 Telecommunications symbol. The Wizard creates and links the MicroPDF417 and TLC39 (TCIF Linked Code 39) bar code together. The TLC39 specification permits serial number as well as other variable data to be encoded into the new MicroPDF417 symbol. The PDF417 two-dimensional symbology is linked to the existing Code 39 CLEI code. |
| New Printer Models/Drivers | Loftware has added support for a number of Printer Models: Datamax - ST-3210, ST-3306, I-4604, I-4406; Intermec - Easy Coder C4, Easy Coder F4 |
| New Enhancements for Zebra Printers | Loftware has added the ability to recall TTF fonts from Zebra printers and print them natively. |
